Review of Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week

Recently, we reported the top colors for spring 2014. Now, here are the styles for spring 2014 seen at New York Fashion Week. I added promotional versions of the trends found on PromoMarketing.com’s product search so you can get a early start on spring apparel sales.
Safety Fashion
Band of Outsiders always has a casual-cool vibe, especially for warm weather wears. For spring 2014, the line showed wide mesh fabrics, cubist designs and champagne gold (a la the new iPhone 5s). You know what looks good with mesh? Safety gear, like the vest below.

Timber & Tumblers

Blue-hued metallics, neutral tie-dyes and wood grain prints dominated the runway for 3.1 Phillip Lim. Wood grain on apparel has yet to make it big in the promotional industry, but you can add the trend to your drinkware promotions with this wood grain desk mug.

Pretty in Purple
Zac Posen showed purple sage, mystic blue and bit of blue, along with floral designs–specifically, all-over prints that look like the larkspurs in Alice in Wonderland. And, of course, ruffles and ruching were everywhere. You can combine purple and ruching with this ladies’ top from Tri-Mountain.

Overall Overthrow
Tillandsia purple, purple potion, purple CP, mosaic blue and colonial blue appeared on Anna Sui’s runway, confirming Pantone’s prediction that blues and purples will be big in spring 2014. Also present were metallics, crochet, printed blazers, varsity jackets and printed overalls. Overalls need to make a comeback. Start with this toddler set.
